Korea Domino's Pizza said it delivered a 100 million won donation at Samsung Medical Center on the 16th to support treatment for pediatric patients.
According to Korea Domino's Pizza on the 17th, Chairman Oh Kwang-hyun of Korea Domino's Pizza and Park Seung-woo, director of Samsung Medical Center, attended the donation ceremony held the previous day. Korea Domino's Pizza has provided a total of 1.35 billion won in donations to Samsung Medical Center from 2010 through this year to ease pediatric patients' medical expenses and help them focus on treatment.
Korea Domino's Pizza began donating in 2005 and has contributed a cumulative 1.7 billion won to the Seoul National University Children's Hospital through this year. Donations to Severance Hospital, which started in 2010, amount to a cumulative 1.15 billion won. The donations were used to treat a total of 976 pediatric patients.
This donation was raised through contributions from Korea Domino's Pizza franchise owners and employees, and through the Hope Sharing Campaign, which allocates a set amount from every online order to the donation fund.
A Korea Domino's Pizza official said, "We are pleased that Korea Domino's Pizza can offer even a small measure of help to pediatric patients who need a warm hand in December," and added, "Korea Domino's Pizza will strive next year to be a brand that goes anywhere a warm hand is needed to offer help."
