With the government's "female youth hygiene product voucher" set to expire at year-end, CU said on the 16th it has improved eligible users' access to purchases and benefits.
The female youth hygiene product voucher is a program that supports the expense of purchasing hygiene products—14,000 won per month, up to 168,000 won per year—for girls and young women ages 9 to 24 who receive livelihood, medical, housing, or education benefits, are in legally defined lower-income brackets, or are eligible for single-parent family support.
CU allows purchases of about 70 types of hygiene products, including sanitary pads and period underwear, at stores in 48 cities and counties nationwide participating in the voucher program and through its own application (app), Pocket CU.
Pocket CU is running free delivery and mobile gift certificate promotions for voucher users. If you search for a nearby store in Pocket CU, tap the "request product" button, and apply according to the free courier form, you can receive the items without paying shipping fees.
Through the 31st of this month, purchasing any of nine designated products, including Dearskin, Rael, Ssoonsuhanmyeon, and Yejimiin, comes with a CU mobile gift certificate based on the purchase amount. You can receive 30,000 won for purchases of 168,000 won or more, 10,000 won for 84,000 won or more, and 5,000 won for 42,000 won or more.
Shin Sang-yong, head of the service platform team at BGF Retail, said, "Because the hygiene product voucher is essential support for those eligible, CU has prepared a variety of products and benefits so it can be used without inconvenience through year-end," and added, "We will continue to expand our social role in supporting the healthy and safe daily lives of vulnerable groups, based on the nation's largest offline store network."
