Shinsegae Group said Chair Chung Yong-jin departed on the 12th to attend a Christmas dinner hosted by U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance. The event is scheduled to be held on the evening of the 12th (local time) at Vance's official residence in Washington.
Key figures from U.S. politics and business are expected to attend the event. Members of Rockbridge Network, founded by Vice President Vance, were also reportedly invited. Chair Chung serves as Asia chairman of Rockbridge Network and is participating as a director at Rockbridge Network Korea, which officially launched in October as a think tank.
A Shinsegae Group official said, "Chair Chung will continue to consider how the global network built over the years can help the growth of Shinsegae Group and the development of Korea's economy."
