CJ Foodville said on the 11th it will open an OLIPEPE store in Gwanghwamun. OLIPEPE is a new Italian brand that aims for dining where Italian food and conversation blend.
According to CJ Foodville, OLIPEPE officially opens that day on the second floor of the Cheonggye Korea Building in Gwanghwamun. At about 170 pyeong, it can seat 156 people at the same time. The interior reinterprets local architectural elements inspired by Italian street scenes to create a warm and lively atmosphere.
At the central pizza oven and open kitchen, they will visually show the process of making dough fresh daily with Caputo flour certified by the Association of Neapolitan Pizzaioli and baking it with generous toppings. OLIPEPE's menu ranges from aperitivo (aperitif) and antipasti to wood-fired pizza and pasta, coffee, and desserts.
OLIPEPE's signature pizza is "Oli Olive." Loaded with green, black, and Kalamata olives and five kinds of cheese, it is characterized by maximizing the umami of olives and the nutty flavor of aged dough.
"Cacio OLIPEPE" is a signature pasta that elevates flavor with just cheese and pepper. It realizes the harmony of cheese and pepper soaked into the cylindrical pasta Zita. With olive crumble added, it maintains a clean balance amid rich flavors.
In particular, to strengthen its Italian identity, it built an espresso lineup in collaboration with Risar Coffee, which helped popularize espresso bars. In addition, a wine list curated directly by sommelier Lee Hyeong-taek, the first-place winner of the 24th Korea Sommelier Competition, will also be introduced.
A CJ Foodville official said, "OLIPEPE is presenting a lively atmosphere and a diverse menu to realize the relaxed and vibrant sensibility unique to Italian dining," and added, "With the season for many year-end gatherings, we hope you enjoy delicious Italian food and rich conversation at OLIPEPE and have a great time."
