Global cosmetics ODM (research, development, production) corporations COSMAX said on the 11th that on the 10th it received NET (New Excellent Technology) certification for its "lipid nano carrier" technology at the "2025 New Technology Commercialization Promotion Conference" hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. NET is a national certification granted to superior technologies that were developed for the first time in Korea or innovatively improved from existing technologies.
The formal technical name of the lipid nano carrier is the "self-assembled nano carrier with interface strengthened by introduction of fatty acids for improving skin brightness." It enhances the delivery of active ingredients in cosmetics.
The lipid nano carrier is a process technology that uses skin lipid components such as ceramide, cholesterol, and fatty acids to manufacture nano carriers without special equipment like high-pressure emulsification. Through interaction with the skin, it promotes fluidization of the lipid layer and increases the skin absorption rate of active ingredients. COSMAX said that in actual product applications, clinical testing verified that despite using the same amount of functional ingredients, the whitening effect improved 1.6 times compared with existing technology.
Because the lipid nano carrier can be manufactured through a self-assembly process, it also reduces carbon emissions by about 92% compared with existing methods. A self-assembly process refers to a nanotechnology-based process in which substances or particles arrange and assemble themselves without external artificial manipulation.
Park Cheon-ho, head of the R&I Unit at COSMAX BTI, said, "COSMAX's nano carrier manufacturing technology has been officially recognized for its technological prowess through new technology certification," and added, "We will continue to develop innovative carrier technologies and help further strengthen K-beauty's technological competitiveness in premium markets at home and abroad."
