Cha Woo-cheol, CEO of Lotte Mart and Super, said, "We will strengthen the competitiveness of our core domestic business and expand overseas operations with high growth potential to broaden opportunities for joint growth."
Cha said this at the "2026 Lotte Mart & Lotte Super Partners Day" held on the 9th at Bottle Bunker Bistro inside Lotte Mart Zettaflex Jamsil in Seoul, noting, "In a fast-changing retail environment, a cooperative relationship with partners based on trust is the most important asset."
Now in its fourth year, Partners Day was prepared to solidify cooperative relationships with partner companies and establish a sustainable framework for joint growth. The event was led by Cha, who held his first roundtable since taking office.
At the event, Cha also shared next year's key business directions and implementation plans for Lotte Mart and Super. Lotte Mart and Super have built competitiveness based on ▲ strengthening synergies from integrating the grocery division ▲ enhancing product competitiveness centered on fresh and private brand (PB) items ▲ expanding food-focused stores.
Next year, based on this strategy, the company plans to boost competitiveness in the domestic market while securing new growth engines by expanding overseas operations with strong growth potential and the online grocery business.
Overseas, the company will build differentiated global competitiveness by strengthening its strategy for grocery specialty stores centered on K-food (Korean cuisine). It will also create new revenue sources by expanding exports of PB products and provide partners with opportunities to expand stable sales channels.
In Korea, the company will fully launch its online grocery business by operating the advanced automated logistics center "Zetta Smart Center Busan" in the first half of next year. The center, which applies the smart platform (OSP) of British company Ocado, will improve inconveniences in traditional online grocery shopping such as product spoilage, out-of-stock items, omissions, and misdeliveries, and is expected to raise delivery quality and customer satisfaction.
