SSG.com said on the 9th that it will launch a new paid membership, "SSG Seven Club," in early Jan. next year. It features an industry-leading "7% rewards" benefit and access to "Tving online video service (OTT)."
The core of the new membership is a "fixed 7% rewards on grocery checkout amount." When purchasing SSG Delivery (daytime, dawn, Traders) items, rewards are automatically credited as SSG Money and can be used on SSG.com. They can also be used at various places, including affiliates of Shinsegae Group such as Emart, Shinsegae Department Store, and Starbucks.
Members can also enjoy content such as drama, variety shows, professional baseball (KBO League), and professional basketball (KBL League) broadcasts through a partnership with Tving. However, it will not be uniformly included in the base benefits and will be offered as an option customers can choose independently. Discount coupons for Shinsegae Department Store Mall and Shinsegae Mall will also be provided.
SSG.com said it expects the new membership to accelerate customer inflow to SSG.com. From the 29th to the 7th, the average daily number of new visitors to SSG.com rose 120% year over year, and the average daily number of visitors increased 15%.
Sales head Lee Myung-geun of SSG.com said, "We aim to enhance perceived benefits by adding an OTT service to overwhelming grocery rewards," and "We are preparing various additional benefits to boost customer satisfaction."
