Ediya Inc. Coffee said on the 9th that an analysis of franchise sales from the 1st to the 8th of this month showed sales of traditional teas such as ssanghwa tea, yuzu tea, and ginger tea rose about 30% from a year earlier.
Ediya Inc. Coffee said traditional teas are steadily popular in winter, but this year the temperature drop arrived about one to two weeks earlier than usual, and a clear sales increase appeared starting the first week of December. A broad mix of menu items gained popularity, driving growth across the category.
Ediya Inc. Coffee also said two region-specialized liquid teas launched last month (Jeju lemon tea and Jeju ginger tea) are getting positive responses from consumers.
An Ediya Inc. Coffee official said, "With the bitter cold of early winter, many more customers are looking for warm traditional teas, which led to overall sales growth," and added, "We will continue to expand products that reflect the seasons and regional characteristics to meet a wide range of customer preferences."
