The Korea Consumer Agency (KCA) said on the 9th that after checking the goose down ratio and the blend rate of filling in 24 goose down (goose feather) padded jackets (23 brands) sold on major fashion platforms, some products had discrepancies between their ads and labels and their actual composition, or failed to meet quality standards.
According to the consumer agency's investigation, five of the 24 products were sold as "goose down," but their actual goose feather content fell short of the standard. Goose down must contain at least 80% goose feathers in the filling, but these products ranged from 6.6% to 57.1%, failing to meet the Korea Industrial Standards (KSK 2620). Brands in this category were Remi, Labellefit, Hippley, Click&Funny, and FromUse.
Two products, Belia and Jenahre, were described as "goose" on their online product pages, but their actual labels read "duck down," indicating an information mismatch. Their actual goose feather ratios were only 1.9% to 4.7%.
In addition, products from Remi and FromUse had lower down (plumule) ratios than indicated, and some brands, including Labellefit, Jenahre, and Hippley, did not list the filling composition on the product, which was flagged for improvement.
Compliance with quality labeling standards was also an issue. Of those surveyed, 12 of the 24 products were labeled only in Chinese or English, not Korean, and essential information such as blend ratios was missing. The brands were Remi, Mohan, Sagemont, Merrell, Snow Peak Apparel, Offgrid, Labellefit, Belia, Jenahre, Hippley, Click&Funny, and FromUse.
The companies corrected product information or halted sales and announced or completed plans to provide consumer exchange and refunds. The fashion platforms also promised stronger response and oversight.
Meanwhile, the consumer agency said it conducted this investigation focusing on four major fashion platforms—W Concept, Musinsa, ably, and Zigzag—that received at least 150 applications for relief related to clothing and textiles over the past three years (2022 to June 2025).
