Golden Blue International, the exclusive importer and distributor of Taiwan's flagship single malt whisky Kavalan, said on the 8th that it carried out a fourth YouTube collaboration with chef Lee Yeon-bok to introduce pairing menus with Kavalan. The fourth whisky pairing menu is dongpo pork.
Golden Blue International has continued its collaboration with chef Lee Yeon-bok to showcase Kavalan's appeal alongside a variety of foods. The pairing menus introduced so far are three in total: ▲ Kavalan Classic and Kavalan Highball Whisky Soda that pair with tangsuyuk ▲ Kavalan Triple Sherry Cask presented with spring rolls ▲ Kavalan Distillery Select No. 1 paired with menbosha.
This time, it introduced the whisky Kavalan Solist Port Single Cask Strength, which harmonizes with dongpo pork, considered one of chef Lee Yeon-bok's signature dishes. According to Golden Blue International, the previous day the chef showcased his own special dongpo pork recipe with Kavalan whisky.
Kavalan Solist Port Cask is matured as a single barrel in port wine casks, delivering abundant fruit aromas and a rich, heavy sweetness. In particular, its bright citrus notes and sweet berry aromas elevate the umami of dongpo pork, making it a top-rated combination.
