The Korea Consumer Agency (KCA) tested and evaluated five domestic laptop models released this year and found that products from Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics had the fastest program launch speeds. LG Electronics had the lightest weight, while Lenovo had the longest battery life.
On the 4th, the agency released results from tests of five laptop models: Samsung Electronics (NT960XHA), Apple (A3241), Asus (TP3607S), Lenovo (X9-15Gen1) and LG Electronics (16Z90TS).
Combining the weight of the device and the charger, the LG Electronics model was rated the lightest at 1,037g. That is about two-thirds the weight of the Asus product at 2,085g.
For the time it takes to launch general office programs (startup time), products from Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics were faster when connected to a charger, earning relatively high scores. This metric reflects not only CPU performance but also the level of operating system (OS)-based system tuning, and clear differences appear by model even when using the same OS.
In the battery endurance assessment, Lenovo's product lasted 13 hours 2 minutes, the longest. By contrast, the LG Electronics model ran for 5 hours 42 minutes, the shortest, showing a gap of up to 2.3 times between products.
Apple's product received the highest marks for display quality; the Samsung Electronics, Lenovo and LG Electronics models were classified as "good," while the Asus product was rated "average."
For sound quality, Apple, Lenovo and LG Electronics products were relatively excellent, while Samsung Electronics was "good" and Asus was "average." In contrast, camera performance earned an excellent rating sufficient for video conferencing across all five products.
For network speed, four products except Apple showed relatively high performance.
An agency official said, "When choosing a laptop, it's important to select one that fits your usage patterns because there are large differences by category, including not just portability but also screen quality, battery life and sound."
