LOTTE Wellfood said on the 28th that the campaign video for its flagship social contribution activity, "The Dr. Xylitol Bus is coming!" won the Minister of Economy and Finance Award in the co-prosperity cooperation category at the 2025 CSR Film Festival Awards.
The CSR Film Festival Awards highlights, through video, the social contribution activities of corporations and institutions that achieved joint growth with local communities over the year and shares their value. Judges select the winners based on ISO 26000, the international standard for corporate social responsibility, using the criteria of ▲ creativity of planning ▲ seriousness of the social issue ▲ resolution of the social issue ▲ artistry (communicative power).
The awards ceremony took place on the 27th at The Westin Seoul Parnas in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Attendees included Wi Se-ryang, head of communications at LOTTE Wellfood, and Vice President Hwang Hye-kyung of the Korean Dental Association, among others.
The "The Dr. Xylitol Bus is coming!" campaign is a mobile dental clinic program that travels directly to medically underserved areas. At the ceremony, it was highly recognized for consistently contributing to resolving healthcare imbalances and to local communities. LOTTE Wellfood has operated the program since 2009 using a portion of revenue from Lotte Xylitol gum. Using buses equipped with treatment equipment, the program has provided free oral examinations and treatment to residents of areas with low access to dental care, including islands and mountain regions.
It has been conducted more than 141 times across the country, including Jeju Island, Ulleung Island and Yeonpyeong Island, with some 1,300 participants, including dentists from the Korean Dental Association, dental hygienists and volunteers. So far, 12,145 treatments have been provided. The cumulative number of patients treated comes to around 7,400.
A LOTTE Wellfood official said, "It is meaningful that our efforts to help close gaps in healthcare and improve residents' oral health have been recognized with this award," adding, "We will continue to support areas with low medical accessibility and neighbors in need."
