Pulmuone Foods said on the 24th that five varieties of its "fresh dumplings" (pork and napa cabbage, shrimp and bok choy, pork and spinach, pork and dropwort, and rich pork), unveiled in September, surpassed cumulative sales of 1 million units three months after launch.
The fresh dumplings are a new product that applies an "instant steam process" instead of the conventional frozen dumpling manufacturing method. Pulmuone said they deliver the fresh taste of just-made dumplings with moist, tender wrappers and fillings with a vivid texture.
To this, the product increases the proportion of fresh vegetables and combines a variety of vegetables so consumers can enjoy the flavors of meat juices and vegetable juices. While making full use of fresh vegetables, the company found the optimal ratio of meat to vegetables to maximize the distinctive crunchy texture and fresh taste and flavor.
Pulmuone plans to strengthen its fresh dumpling lineup. The company said it will not only expand the range of "fresh dumpling" items but also bolster its competitiveness in the market.
Yun Myeong-rang, head of global marketing at Pulmuone Foods, said, "Pulmuone fresh dumplings created a strong response among consumers with the essence of dumplings, the 'living texture of each materials and supplies,'" and added, "As a pioneer in the fresh dumpling market, we will continue to launch new products using a variety of vegetables and ingredients and lead the market."
