At Coupang, an incident occurred in which the personal information of 4,500 customers was exposed.
Coupang said on the 20th that it confirmed on the 18th that customer personal information had been accessed without authorization, and noted that the information viewed included names, email addresses, shipping address books, and the most recent five orders.
It added that after detecting the activity, Coupang blocked the access route used by a third party, and so far it has not confirmed any cases of the viewed information being used.
Coupang reported the personal information exposure incident to the Personal Information Protection Commission that day.
Coupang said, "We sincerely apologize for causing concern to our customers. We will continue to do our best to protect customers' personal information."
