Seven-Eleven said on the 19th that it will roll out 12 types of health functional foods developed in collaboration with drugmaker Daewoong Pharmaceutical sequentially at about 3,000 stores nationwide. The products feature a 14-day small package configuration and a low price of 3,500 won to improve accessibility.
The products launched first that day are five types: "Two Weeks Vitality-Charging Vitamin B Complex" for energy replenishment; "Two Weeks Antioxidant Vitamin C" to help with antioxidants; "Two Weeks rTG Omega-3" for improving blood circulation; "Two Weeks Diet Green Tea Catechin" to support body fat reduction; and "Two Weeks Coenzyme Q10" to help improve blood pressure.
In addition, Seven-Eleven plans to introduce seven more within the year: "Two Weeks Multivitamin & Mineral," "Two Weeks Liver Health Milk Thistle," "Two Weeks Post-Meal Blood Sugar Cut Banaba Leaf Extract," "Two Weeks Gut Health Probiotics," "Two Weeks Eye Health Lutein," "Two Weeks Muscle Health Magnesium," and "Two Weeks Memory Improvement Ginkgo Leaf Extract."
Lee Juyoung, merchandising manager on Seven-Eleven's processed foods team, said, "Consumer interest in health has been rising more than ever recently," adding, "Through this two-week healthy habits project, we will ensure convenience stores firmly establish themselves as lifestyle platforms beyond places that simply sell products."
