Convenience store 7-Eleven said on the 16th that it will run a "fresh foods special-price event" to ease grocery basket costs.
According to 7-Eleven that day, the event will sell a six-count (1 kilogram) pack of "ugly apples" with at least 12 Brix grown in Geochang, South Gyeongsang, in the mid-8,000 won range. On the 19th, it will offer "animal welfare antibiotic-free fertilized eggs" (10-count) on a buy-one-get-one (1+1) deal.
Domestic soy tofu (for stew and for pan-frying) will be sold at half price. Small pan-frying tofu and small stew tofu will be discounted by 18% each, and antibiotic-free value medium eggs will be discounted by 1,000 won.
Kim Yong-hee, a 7-Eleven ready-to-eat foods team merchandiser (MD), said, "With this year's heat wave and high inflation, the burden of fresh food prices has grown, so we aimed to increase the benefits consumers can feel."
