LOTTE Chilsung Beverage said on the 10th it will release a 500ml Chilsung Cider product in a PET bottle made with 100% recycled plastic raw material (MR-PET). The move is meant to step up its eco-friendly push ahead of the enforcement of the Ministry of Environment's Act on the Promotion of Saving and Recycling of Resources.
According to LOTTE Chilsung Beverage, applying 100% recycled raw material to its product PET bottles can reduce about 2,200 tons (t) of plastic and 2,900 t of carbon emissions annually. The company said this not only reduces environmental impacts from landfill and incineration of waste plastic but also contributes to achieving carbon neutrality goals.
The lower part of the container for the newly released product has changed from the existing round shape to a relief pattern. The angular design enhances stability. The label carries the phrase and mark "100% RECYCLED BOTTLE."
Marking its 75th year since launch this year, Chilsung Cider is conveying the meaning of change through an ad campaign with the message "the first changes everyone." In September, LOTTE Chilsung Beverage won the main award in the branding category at the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) 2025 in the United States, one of the world's three major design awards.
The product lineup is also expanding. In line with the healthy pleasure trend, "Chilsung Cider Zero," which lowers the calorie burden while preserving the original product's taste and aroma, is considered a steady seller. Recently, it also launched "Chilsung Cider Zero Orange," which adds an orange note.
Meanwhile, LOTTE Chilsung Beverage is also pushing to expand into overseas markets. This year, at international food fairs such as "Gulfood 2025" held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and "THAIFEX 2025" held in Bangkok, Thailand, it held more than 430 buyer meetings.
