KT Alpha said on the 10th that starting on the 18th it will integrate its data home shopping service KT Alpha Shopping and its mobile gift certificate service Giftishow. Based on a membership base that spans all age groups, the move is intended to expand B2C (corporations–consumer transaction) commerce synergies and strengthen customers' shopping convenience and benefits.
With this integration, both home shopping and mobile gifting will be available in a single service. The memberships of the two services will also be integrated to enhance customer benefits.
KT Alpha revamped the UI to place the KT Alpha Shopping and Giftishow tabs side by side, and applied an AI recommendation algorithm to strengthen product suggestions tailored to the customer shopping journey.
The memberships of the two services will also be integrated. From the existing three tiers, VIP and VVIP were newly added to subdivide the structure into five tiers, and KT telecom subscribers will be automatically given VIP status. Members at VIP and above will receive differentiated benefits such as up to 5% discounts and 15% coupons by period. Through the end of February next year, both new and integrated members will have VIP status.
Points can also be used crosswise, allowing customers to freely purchase home shopping and mobile products with accumulated points. In addition, through AI analysis, the share of personalized recommendations was expanded from the previous 25% to 60%, and the accuracy of product recommendations was improved by reflecting real-time customer behavior data.
For UI/UX as well, high-resolution images and AI-based video content were placed front and center, and quick payment was introduced to streamline the order process.
KT Alpha will also strengthen age-specific tailored content. Targeting customers in their 50s and 60s, the main home shopping demographic, it will pursue specialized magazine and product partnerships aligned with the "slow-aging" trend, and Giftishow plans to roll out seasonal promotions that expand popular items by TPO (time, place, occasion) such as gratitude and celebration.
Park Seung-pyo, KT Alpha CEO, said, "This service integration is aimed at providing a differentiated, customer-centric mobile shopping experience amid a rapidly changing commerce environment," adding, "With an integrated service that encompasses physical goods and mobile gift certificates, we plan to enhance customer convenience while strengthening KT membership benefits and maximizing group-level commerce synergies."
