Cafe franchise Twosome Place said on the 6th that it will enter the global market, including the United States, next year. Twosome Place has strengthened its overseas expansion strategy and related personnel since last year. This is a renewed attempt three years after 2022. Twosome Place opened its first store in China in 2011 when it was owned by CJ Foodville, but closed all stores in 2022.
Executive Vice President for marketing Im Hye-sun of Twosome Place held the "2025 holiday season press briefing" at "Twosome 2.0 Anguk" in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the 6th and said, "We plan to open a directly operated store in the United States within next year." Im said, "Twosome Place is a brand with solid roots that has focused on one thing for 23 years and is a brand worthy of being presented anywhere in the world. For now, we are preparing to open (stores) in the United States."
That day, Twosome Place also announced a brand reinforcement strategy. To mark the year-end, it unveiled eight types of Christmas season cakes. The new cakes include "Bûche de Noël," "Strawberry Santa," and "Melting Snowman." They will launch on the 15th.
A feature of this year's Christmas season cakes is the introduction of new products using the "pistole (spray coating)" technique. The goal is to present the visuals and quality of cakes offered at five-star hotel bakeries. A Twosome Place official said, "We will target the premium cake market with the visuals and quality of hotel cakes."
This year, it is also improving customer convenience through a digital reservation service. Twosome Place operates advance reservations for cakes that can be picked up within 24 hours through its membership app "Twosome Heart." Customers can select their preferred store and date in the app and order in advance. It is useful for preparing for year-end gatherings or birthdays and other occasions. Holiday season cake reservation sales grew 45% during the holiday season in December last year alone.
Park Kyung-min, director in charge of the Twosome Place brand, said, "The core of this year-end season strategy is strengthening the advance reservation service and benefits," adding, "We will showcase a variety of products, including the flagship 'Seucho-saeng' and 'Matcha Abak whole cake,' to expand the enjoyment of the premium dessert experience."
To strengthen its position in the premium dessert market, Twosome Place has focused on diversifying its fresh cream cake lineup and collaborating with global brands. A representative example is launching fresh cream cakes topped with seasonal fruit. It has also continued collaborations with global brands such as Porsche. This time, it collaborated with Hennessy. Im said, "When fall and winter come, people seem to look forward to which brand Twosome will collaborate with this time," adding, "We will make sure to carry that sense of anticipation forward."
Starting next year, Twosome Place plans to focus on space-centered branding. A representative example is the Twosome 2.0 store that opened in Gangnam on Sept. 1. The press briefing was held that day at Twosome 2.0 in Anguk-dong, Seoul. The Twosome 2.0 Anguk store will open on the 8th.
