HanaTour Co. said on the 5th in a filing that, on a consolidation basis, operating profit for the third quarter this year was 8.3 billion won, down 31.1% from a year earlier. Revenue fell 22.7% to 123.3 billion won, and net profit decreased 32.7% to 9.2 billion won.
A HanaTour Co. official said, "Because the Chuseok holiday was in September last year and in October this year, the related results were deferred to the fourth quarter."
HanaTour Co. is highlighting the performance of the "Mingling Tour," a themed travel package for people in their 20s and 30s. Cumulative users of the Mingling Tour through October increased 557% from a year earlier.
A HanaTour Co. official said, "In the fourth quarter, we expect growth as the effects of the long Chuseok holiday and the year-end peak season are reflected."
