Samyang Group said on the 4th that it carried out an organizational reshuffle and regular executive appointments. This year's restructuring was implemented one month earlier than in previous years to increase the organization's execution in the business environment and respond proactively to change.
Samyang Group promoted three executives to CEO and hired two outside experts as executives. CEO-designate Lee Un-ik of Samyang Corporation will concurrently serve as head of Chemical Group 1, which consists of traditional chemical material affiliates such as Samyang Innochem, Samyang Hwasung, Samyang Hwa In Technology, and Samnam Petrochemical, and will lead Samyang Group's chemical business.
Lee, who joined Samyang Corporation in 1992, served as head of the Vietnam EP subsidiary, CEO of Samnam Petrochemical, and head of AMBU. As the petrochemical industry is in a slump and facing difficulties, Samyang Group plans to appoint Lee, who has extensive industry experience, as CEO through the regular shareholders meeting in March next year.
At Samyang Packaging, CEO-designate Yun Seok-hwan was tapped as the next leader. Yun previously served as head of IC at Samyang Holdings and head of the Future Strategy Office. Under new leadership, Samyang Packaging is expected to focus on strengthening competitiveness in its PET container business and aseptic business.
At Samyang KCI, a cosmetics and personal care affiliate, the CEO-designate is division head Ahn Tae-hwan. Ahn, who joined Samyang Corporation in 1999, served as Head of Team for strategy marketing at Samyang KCI and as head of sales and marketing. Yun and Ahn will also be appointed as CEOs after the regular shareholders meeting in March next year.
At Samyang Data Systems, which handles the group's IT services, Oh Seung-hoon was appointed CEO. Oh worked at IBM Korea and served as CEO of Eugene IT Service and CEO of Tmax BI. Under Oh's leadership, which combines IT expertise and consulting capabilities, Samyang Data Systems plans to accelerate the group's AI (artificial intelligence) transition.
At Samyang Holdings, Lee Dong-hyun was appointed head of the Future Strategy Office. Lee, regarded as a strategy expert, served as Head of Team for strategic planning at Hanwha Solutions and as head of Strategy Team 1 and head of the New Business Promotion Office at Hanwha. Based on a global and specialty business portfolio, Lee was selected as the right person to design Samyang Group's future.
