Shinsegae Department Store said on the 4th that House of Shinsegae Dessert Salon was selected for the 2025 Taste of Seoul 100, organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
Taste of Seoul 100 is an official gastronomy list released annually by the Seoul Metropolitan Government since 2020, selected through expert screening across seven categories including restaurants, cafes & desserts, and bars.
Opened on the 5th floor of the main store's The Heritage in April, House of Shinsegae Dessert Salon is a space planned in collaboration by the Shinsegae Department Store Korean Cuisine Research Institute, traditional food expert Chef Seo Myeong-hwan, and Kim Dong-hyeon, the 18th director of Maewoldang Tea.
From menu composition and cooking to tea ware and spatial direction, it consistently embodied the vein of tradition and was evaluated as opening a new genre called a "modern tea sweets space."
It is designed so customers can fully savor tea and byunggwa while experiencing a distinct tea ceremony culture, and it presents a "seasonal tea sweets table" each month using seasonal ingredients.
Since opening, House of Shinsegae Dessert Salon has exceeded internal sales plans by more than 30%.
