GS Retail said on the 4th that convenience store GS25 and home shopping GS Shop received "top" and "excellent" ratings, respectively, in the 2024 the Shared Growth Index evaluation.
GS Retail was the only one among large retail corporations to remain at the "top" rating for two consecutive years. In the institutional sector created in 2016 for "franchise business," GS25 became the first in the industry to receive an "excellent" rating, and in 2019 it earned the "top" rating for the first time across all retail fields. Since then, it has maintained the same rating four times through this year, steadily advancing a co-prosperity model with franchise owners.
GS Shop was recognized for practicing ESG management with partner companies and strengthening partnerships based on fair trade, achieving an "excellent" rating in the home shopping industry for the second straight year.
The Shared Growth Index evaluation is a system implemented since 2011 to measure the level of cooperation between large and small and midsize companies, and the results are announced annually based on the Act on the Promotion of Win-Win Cooperation between Large Enterprises and Small and Medium Enterprises.
Gwak Chang-heon, head of sustainability management at GS Retail, said, "We have continuously expanded a co-prosperity structure that enables franchise owners and partner companies to grow together," and added, "We will do our best to use this evaluation as a springboard to spread a shared growth culture across the retail industry."
