Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, and Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun are said to hold an informal "chicken and beer" gathering on the afternoon of the 30th at a Kkanbu Chicken outlet in Samseong-dong, Seoul.
According to related industries, Huang is expected to visit a Kkanbu Chicken location near Samseong Station before or after attending the "GeForce Gamer Festival," an event marking the 25th anniversary of the Korea launch of Nvidia's GeForce GPU brand, held at COEX in Seoul on the same day.
The meeting venue was reportedly decided at the suggestion of Huang's side. "Kkanbu" in Kkanbu Chicken is slang meaning a close friend, colleague, partner, or companion, and the industry interprets it as possibly implying an "AI kkanbu." The term kkanbu also became globally famous with the line "We're kkanbu, aren't we?" from the Netflix original "Squid Game Season."
At the informal meeting joined by Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Chairman Chung Eui-sun, discussions are expected to continue on Samsung Electronics' cooperation on HBM (high bandwidth memory) and related talks on Autonomous Driving and robotics projects with Hyundai Motor Group.
Samsung Electronics is currently set to begin mass production of 12-high HBM3E (5th generation) products for Nvidia. It is also conducting HBM4 verification. Hyundai Motor in January this year formed a strategic partnership with Nvidia and is strengthening cooperation in AI, robotics, and Autonomous Driving technologies.
