Nongshim said on the 30th that it received the Minister of Health and Welfare Award in recognition of its social contribution at the 2025 Food Bank Sharing Festival.
According to Nongshim, the 2025 Food Bank Sharing Festival was held the day before at Cheonggye Plaza in Seoul. Organized to spread a culture of donating food and household goods and to raise interest in social contribution activities, Nongshim's "Emergency Food Bag" was highly rated as a customized social contribution program that leverages the strengths of food corporations and thus received an award.
The Emergency Food Bag is a program that Nongshim and the National Food Bank have run together since 2020, providing instantly consumable foods such as ramen and bottled water to vulnerable people in disaster or crisis situations requiring urgent support, or those in the blind spots of public assistance. Over the past six years, the number of food items Nongshim donated through the Emergency Food Bag has reached 6.3 million.
Along with the award that day, Nongshim also donated sharing bundles consisting of Nongshim ramen to the Food Bank. A Nongshim official said, "We are pleased that the sharing value of 'Emergency Food Pack,' one of Nongshim's flagship social contribution programs, has been recognized," adding, "Going forward, Nongshim will continue to deliver hope and reassurance to people through food, the essence of food corporations, and become a company that 'makes life delicious.'"
