Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baemin, said on the 29th that it will take part in the "Korea Grand Festival" to help reinvigorate neighborhood business districts.
The Korea Grand Festival is a nationwide, large-scale discount event with participation from the government, local governments, the retail industry, small and medium-sized enterprises, and small business owners. From today through on the 9th, online and offline events will take place simultaneously across the country.
Baemin will offer a 5,000 won discount coupon for pickup orders every day on a first-come, first-served basis through on the 18th of next month across all of Gwangju and Busan, where the opening ceremony of the Korea Grand Festival will be held. It also plans to provide a 10,000 won pickup coupon to a total of 100 customers selected by lottery among those who visit stores in Busan and Gwangju and write a review including keywords such as "alley" and "together."
In particular, Baemin will also offer a 5,000 won discount coupon, available on a first-come, first-served basis from the 31st through on the 9th of next month, for pickup orders at about 5,000 "donation-practicing stores" in each region nationwide that are listed on the "Together Store" page in the app. Together Store is Baemin's shared-growth initiative that helps expand online sales channels for small and medium-sized local businesses that create community value. At that time, it also plans to give a 10,000 won pickup coupon to 100 customers selected by lottery among those who write reviews for "donation-practicing stores" including the keywords "donation" and "sharing."
In addition, it prepared a special promotion to introduce consumers to high-quality local specialties during the event period and support local producers in expanding their sales channels. Through on the 17th of next month, it will run a Chungnam specialties promotion, selling items such as Yesan apple juice, Nonsan bellflower root syrup, Gongju chestnuts, and Gwangcheon seasoned laver. Baemin also plans to offer, on a first-come, first-served basis, discount coupons of up to 30,000 won that can be used when purchasing these products.
In addition, in line with the purpose of the government's joint discount festival to boost nationwide consumption and revitalize the economy, it will also run special promotions such as: ▲ Grocery shopping mart discount days (Nov. 1–5) ▲ B Mart five-day market promotion (Nov. 5–9).
Kim Jung-hyeon, head of the Sustainability Management Center at Woowa Brothers, said, "Baemin will continue to take part in national events that help stimulate the local economy."
