Minister Song Mi-ryung of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs said on the 23rd, "The government will position the Foodtech industry as Korea's strategic industry and nurture it as a national growth engine that drives innovation in the agri-food industry," adding, "To this end, the 'Act on the Promotion of the Foodtech Industry' was enacted last year and is set to take effect in December this year."
Minister Song, in congratulatory remarks at the "2025 Foodtech & Trend Conference" held at the Westin Josun Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul, said, "The world is now facing a huge wave of change that is transforming our overall dietary life, including the climate crisis, food security, and sustainable consumption," adding, "Amid these changes, Foodtech, a convergence of food and technology, is emerging as a new growth engine for the national economy," conveying this message. The remarks were delivered by Kim Jeong-uk, director general of the Agricultural Innovation Policy Bureau at the ministry, on Song's behalf.
Hosted by ChosunBiz and sponsored by the ministry, the "2025 Foodtech & Trend Conference" is an event that discovers and widely promotes promising corporations and Start - Up in the food sector and shares rapidly changing food consumption trends and market shifts.

Minister Song added, "The government is strengthening research and development on the 10 core technologies of Foodtech and is actively supporting the growth of the Foodtech industry by fostering specialized talent and providing tailored support for corporations," noting, "Five Foodtech research support centers aligned with key regional technologies have been selected, and we will systematically foster a competitive Foodtech industry around them."
She went on to say, "Today's gathering will be a starting point for the government, industry, and consumers to jointly envision the direction of the future food industry. We hope that the concerns and solutions shared by various corporations and experts will lead to tangible results in the field."
