Dongsuh Foods said on the 22nd that it will operate the flagship popup store (temporary shop) "Kanu Capsule Tailor in Bukchon" ("Kanu Capsule Tailor") in Bukchon, Jongno-gu, Seoul, through Nov. 2.
"Kanu Capsule Tailor" is a space where visitors can try and purchase capsules dedicated to the Kanu Barista Machine and Kanu capsules compatible with other devices. Like a tailor shop that makes custom clothing, visitors can discover customized coffee capsules that fit their personal tastes and lifestyles.
When a visitor arrives at the "Kanu Capsule Tailor" reception, a dedicated tailor is assigned. Depending on the capsule coffee machine each person owns, visitors taste three representative capsules and fill out a "Capsule Tailoring Note" to record their coffee preferences, such as acidity and body. After identifying their preferences, visitors can freely explore capsules in the capsule exploration zone, choose the capsules they want, and taste the selected coffee for free.
Purchasing a 15,000-won experience ticket also brings additional benefits. Offerings include "Kanu Hansang," which consists of two pairing desserts—such as monaka, madeleine, and financier—that match the chosen coffee, and the "MY Tailor Package," which includes seven capsule types tailored to one's coffee preferences.
Dongsuh Foods has been continuously running popup stores with differentiated concepts to broaden its touchpoints with consumers. In May last year, it collaborated for a month with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seoul Metro to open the "Kanu Rest Station Popup Store" in an idle space inside Jayang Station on Seoul Subway Line 7, providing a place where people could catch a brief break in their busy daily lives at a subway station. Then in July, it operated the "Grand Kanu Hotel" popup store for about a month at Starfield Goyang and Hanam.
