LOTTE Wellfood said on the 22nd that it has launched a new product line, SSALO Chips, under its rice snack brand SSALO, in Korea and Pakistan. The launch in Pakistan marks the first time the SSALO brand is produced overseas.
LOTTE Wellfood tailored SSALO flavors for Korea and Pakistan to reflect each country's food culture. For the Korean market, which prefers nutty and deep flavors, it introduced SSALO Chips perilla oil seaweed flavor. Using domestically sourced seaweed and perilla oil, it features a nutty and savory taste.
In Pakistan, two varieties were launched: ▲ SSALO Chips Flamin' Hot ▲ SSALO Chips Smoked Paprika. They add a Korean-style spiciness to spice profiles familiar to local consumers. In particular, to reflect local tastes, LOTTE Wellfood collaborated with its Pakistan subsidiary and the LOTTE Central Research Institute. Both products have also obtained HALAL certification.
To mark the launch, LOTTE Wellfood plans not only a collaboration campaign with popular local influencers but also large billboard ads, sampling events targeting people in their teens and 20s, and dedicated in-store displays to strengthen brand awareness.
A LOTTE Wellfood official said, "Pakistan's first rice snack, SSALO Chips, offers a highly refined taste achieved after long development and has been well received since its release," and added, "We will continue working to promote Korea's tastes and culture around the world."
