Convenience store CU said on the 15th that its private-label brand PBICK, relaunched at the end of May, surpassed a cumulative 30 million units sold in five months. Sales topped 65 billion won.
Starting with snacks, CU is offering more than 120 PBICK products across categories including home meal replacement (HMR), processed meats, beverages, and toilet paper.
The best-selling products were the "Chicken breast steal" series, with pepper, original, and smoked, all ranking near the top. Priced at 1,900 won each and made with Korea-raised chicken, they continue to draw steady demand.
Next came the "990 hot bar steal." With a convenient 65g portion and at least 89% Korea-raised pork, the product raised quality while keeping the price low.
CU said other items such as crab steal, steamed dumpling steal, and egg steal also ranked among the top sellers, as customers favored "steal" food items that combine high quality with low prices.
Yoo Seon-ung, head of merchandising at BGF Retail, said, "We will continue to lead trends in the convenience-store private-brand market and develop PBICK into a practical private brand that customers can trust."
