Pickle maker Ilmi Food said on the 1st it will release two premium handmade fresh-cucumber pickles.
Ilmi Food holds the No. 1 share in the fresh-cucumber pickle B2B (business-to-business) market.
The new products Ilmi Food unveiled are two varieties: "PICKDAM Auto Mixue Pickle (cucumber + tomato)" and "PICKDAM Oma Mixue Pickle (cucumber + kelp)."
They are a premium line differentiated from existing delivery cup pickles. They not only use Korea-grown fresh cucumbers and seasonal ingredients but also minimize artificial additives.
An Ilmi Food official said, "If existing pickles were side items for pizza and chicken, the new products are main-course pickles that can be eaten on their own like a salad."
Meanwhile, Ilmi Food has grown into a pickle specialist manufacturer over 28 years since its 1998 founding. In 2017, after relocating to the Sejong plant, it shifted to a fresh-cucumber pickle production system.
