Golf platform corporations GOLFZON said on the 30th that it successfully wrapped up the "2025 GOLFZON China Open."
The 2025 GOLFZON China Open was held at GOLFZON City Golf China No. 2 Yanji branch in Yanji, China. It is the second edition after the "2024 GOLFZON China Open" held at the GOLFZON City Golf China No. 1 Tianjin branch last year. From Aug. 28 to 31, it ran for four days alongside a field golf tour.
GOLFZON's City Golf China No. 2 Yanji branch was built as a complex golf culture space of about 25,000㎡ (about 7,500 pyeong). It features dedicated City Golf simulators and, applying the operational know-how accumulated at the Tianjin branch, offers an open view and even an island green.
The finals of this tournament drew 120 participants, including players selected from across China and invited players. The winner was Zhao Zixu of China. At age 14 in 2023, Zhao won the amateur screen golf tournament "2023 Maotai Buluojiu Open" hosted by GOLFZON China. Choi Un-jeong of Korea finished third.
The total purse was 10 million yuan (about 1.9 billion won). The winner's prize was 3 million yuan (about 570 million won). GOLFZON said the prize money was doubled from last year's tournament.
GOLFZON plans to expand City Golf to multiple countries, including Korea. It is also reviewing introducing a qualifying system through GOLFZON simulators worldwide to develop the GOLFZON Tour into a stage where global golf players can participate.
Hong Jin-pyo, GOLFZON City Golf business division head and pro, said, "In the long term, we will develop the GOLFZON Tour held at City Golf into a new global golf tour that can stand shoulder to shoulder with the PGA Tour and LIV Golf."
