Nongshim said on the 29th it will launch a new snack, Potato Chip K-seasoned chicken flavor. It is the fourth series of the potato chip "Pochelin Guide," which captures the sweet and spicy taste of Korean-style seasoned chicken, loved around the world, in a crispy potato chip.
K-seasoned chicken was selected as one of the K-foods most frequently eaten in the past year, along with ramen, in an overseas Korean food consumer survey announced in 2024 by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. Keeping this in mind, Nongshim developed a dedicated seasoning that brings out the flavors of key ingredients such as gochujang, soy sauce, and garlic to reproduce the uniquely sweet and spicy sauce taste of K-seasoned chicken.
According to Nongshim, Potato Chip K-seasoned chicken flavor will be released on Oct. 14. It will be available at retailers nationwide and in e-commerce (electronic commerce).
In particular, this time it plans to carry out baseball marketing in collaboration with the KBO. For every KBO postseason game in October, it will select the player who delivers the game-winning hit as the "Potato Chip-selected player of 'Potenterjim' (meaning potential has emerged)" and present prize money along with Potato Chip K-seasoned chicken flavor.
A Nongshim official said, "Potato Chip K-seasoned chicken flavor is a snack that blends the flavor of Korean-style seasoned chicken with the crispiness of potato chips," adding, "Going forward, through Potato Chip, we will introduce potato chips that apply a variety of menus favored by consumers at home and abroad."
