Grand Hyatt Seoul will set Namsan as its stage this fall to reinvent a lifestyle that embraces healing and culture. As Namsan draws domestic and international attention as a landmark of Seoul following the recent success of the animated film "K-Pop Demon Hunters," the hotel will roll out culture and wellness programs that leverage its Namsan location. The plan is to present a new standard for "premium life in the city," going beyond simple lodging.
From wellness to festivals…expanding urban healing
Grand Hyatt Seoul will host the 4th "Small Steps Everyday" from Sept. 26 to Oct. 10. Held amid the autumn atmosphere of Namsan, the event adds barre classes and aqua Zumba to existing popular classes such as morning stretching, mat Pilates, garden yoga, and garden Zumba, offering an even more diverse program.
In particular, Nam Ji-hyun, an artist and former member of the girl group 4Minute, will join as an instructor for the barre class, adding professionalism and fun. Guests using the wellness package can also enjoy free admission to the outdoor pool, experiencing resort-like healing in the city.
A festival blending culture and cuisine will follow. The "Namsan Festival," to be held over two days on Oct. 18–19, is a large-scale cultural event centered around the hotel's outdoor garden and JJ Lounge. Building on Wine in the Garden, which wrapped up successfully last spring, this year's festival expands its content with relay concerts, chef performances, and eco-friendly operations.
On the first day, Dophin, Chris Collie, and Han Dong-geun will take the stage; on the second day, Dophin, Gabriel, and Geoni will perform. Guests can also enjoy diverse cuisine, including "Grand Paella," cooked on the spot by chefs in a large pan, and pizza.
A history of innovation…a milestone in Korea’s hotel industry
Grand Hyatt Seoul said, "Since opening in 1978, we have reshaped Korea's hotel industry with numerous 'firsts.' In 1979 we introduced a business center; in 1980 we opened a VIP lounge; in 1985 we launched poolside barbecue; in 1986 we opened an ice rink; and in 1988 we opened JJ Mahoney's, introducing lifestyle content beyond lodging to Korea for the first time.
In the wedding field, it has led wedding culture by introducing new concepts such as "Gothic Modernism" and offering outdoor weddings that utilize banquet spaces. With panoramic views capturing Namsan's four seasons and a variety of banquet halls—Grand Ballroom, Namsan Room, and Waterfall Garden—it is delivering high satisfaction with "urban nature weddings" tailored to customers' tastes.
Grand Hyatt Seoul is accelerating its efforts in ESG (environmental, social, and governance) management. The hotel has implemented a waste monitoring system that cut food waste by 43.5%, introduced label-free bottled water, improved energy efficiency, and promoted eco-friendly initiatives such as Han River plogging and employee tree-planting activities. It also achieved the use of 100% cage-free eggs, earning EarthCheck Silver certification as well as an eco-friendly certification from UL Solutions. At this year's Namsan Festival, all food and beverages will be served with reusable tableware and glassware, reflecting the hotel's philosophy of "sustainable luxury."
Grand Hyatt Seoul said, "Based on heritage and innovation, we will offer a differentiated stay experience that encompasses culture and lifestyle, and we will continue to open the future of the hotel by expanding from a space for lodging to a lifestyle."
Grand Hyatt Seoul is solidifying its status as a global luxury hotel by ranking in the upper tier of the "2025 World's Top 1000 Hotels" selected by La Liste, a global hotel evaluation organization. In the 2024 Business Traveller Asia-Pacific Awards, it was named "Seoul's best business hotel."
