Baemin is opening the country's only motorcycle-specialized training institution, "Rider School," to provide riders with professional two-wheeler training.
Woowa Brothers, which operates Baemin, said on the 21st that the Baemin Rider School in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province, which broke ground last year, was completed in 1 year and 6 months and opened on the 19th.
Baemin Rider School was built in Mangwol-dong, Hanam, Gyeonggi Province, with three stories above ground and a total floor area of 8,000㎡. It aims to graduate 10,000 trainees a year.
The hands-on training grounds on the second and third floors are equipped with traffic lights and lane markings. Sprinklers and drainage facilities allow trainees to experience and practice wet roads, hills, and slippery surfaces indoors. It also offers visibility training for night driving.
Since 2018, Baemin has run a professional rider training course through commissioned education, and since 2021 it has operated its own program.
For those who complete the training, once conditions such as the number of working days are met, monthly co-prosperity support funds are provided through the platform rider co-prosperity support program, and benefits include discounts on insurance products from the Delivery Service Mutual Aid Association.
At the opening ceremony on the 19th were Bom Kim, CEO of Woowa Brothers; Yong-seok Kim, CEO of Woowa Youths; Hanam Mayor Lee Hyun-jae; Kwon Chang-joon, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Employment and Labor; and Hong Chang-ui, Chairperson of the delivery platform union.
