LG H&H said on the 14th that it will donate 300,000 bottles (450ml) of the premium drinking water "ViO Hiyo TM Ullim Water" to Gangneung, Gangwon Province, which is suffering from a shortage of drinking water due to drought.
On 12th, LG H&H delivered 131,520 bottles to Gangneung as the first batch of support. On the 22nd, it plans to make an additional donation as the second batch (168,480 bottles).
Ullim Water is bottled water produced on Ulleungdo. The quantity being provided this time was produced at a local plant on Ulleungdo earlier this month and was delivered to Gangneung Ice Arena by ship and overland transport.
Earlier, Haitai htb, LG H&H's beverage subsidiary, donated 60,000 bottles (2 liters) of "Gangwon Pyeongchang Water" to Gangneung on 24th last month, the first such donation by a private company.
Choi Namsu, executive director for ESG and external relations at LG H&H, said, "We extend our deepest condolences to the citizens of Gangneung, who have suffered greatly from a prolonged water shortage, and we hope daily life is restored as soon as possible."
