GS Retail announced on the 5th that it will urgently provide 10,000 bottles of 2-liter water to assist residents of Gangneung, who are struggling due to drought. The aid items will be delivered to the affected residents through Gangneung City Hall.
GS Retail plans to actively cooperate in identifying the damage situation and necessary items to review additional support and to aid in the swift recovery of the affected residents.
Since 2005, GS Retail has continuously provided emergency relief supplies consisting of essential food and daily necessities to local residents during natural disasters such as typhoons, heavy rains, wildfires, and earthquakes based on its nationwide infrastructure.
Park Kyung-rang, head of the ESG division at GS Retail, said, "We decided on this emergency support to contribute even a little to the recovery of the Gangneung residents from drought damage," and added, "GS Retail will continue to serve as a reliable safety net for the community based on its national business infrastructure."
