Lee Sun-ho, the eldest son of CJ Group Chairman Lee Jae-hyun, will move to the holding company CJ next month to lead the group's future food business. This will mark the Deputy Minister's return to the holding company after six years.
According to CJ Group on the 26th, the Deputy Minister will transition from CJ CheilJedang to the newly established Future Planning Office within the holding company in September, where he will oversee the discovery of future growth engines and the expansion of new businesses.
The Future Planning Office is a dedicated organization planning CJ Group's future new business sectors. It is focusing not only on establishing mid- to long-term visions for CJ Group but also on discovering new growth engines and building strategic systems from a future perspective.
The Deputy Minister is the eldest son among one son and one daughter of Chairman Lee. Born in 1990, he studied financial economics at Columbia University in the United States. He joined CJ CheilJedang through a public recruitment process in 2013 and has worked in various departments, including business management, strategic planning, and mergers and acquisitions. In 2021, he served as Director General of global business. He is particularly mentioned as a strong candidate to continue leading the group management in the future alongside his sister Lee Kyung-hoo, who heads the brand strategy office at CJ ENM, which oversees the media and entertainment business.
