SPC Samlip announced on the 25th that it has achieved four awards at the 2025 Red Dot Design Awards. The Red Dot Design Awards, organized by the North Rhine-Westphalia Design Center in Germany, is one of the world's three major design awards.
SPC Samlip won one 'Best of the Best' award and three 'Winners' in the 'Brand Communication Design' institutional sector. The 'Best of the Best' award, given only to the top 1% of entries, was awarded to the bakery 'Moment Jeju,' which captures the essence of Jeju Island. 'Moment Jeju' is a product that presents the landscapes and attractions of Jeju Island through a sensory design. Its package, which opens like a book and resembles a window, allows one to unfold 'a moment' of Jeju.
The winners included 'Samlip Yakgwa,' 'YAAM,' and 'Bijin,' which have established differentiated identities. 'Samlip Yakgwa' used a teapot image to transform the traditional Korean snack yakgwa into a tea-time dessert. The use of eco-friendly paper for the packaging and its practical design gained positive reviews for considering sustainability.
The B2B brand 'YAAM,' which supplies premium baking ingredients, captured both professionalism and approachability through its intense color combinations and simple arrangement. 'Bijin,' which evolved from a traditional rice cake brand into a modern rice cake café, presented Korea's unique elegance and beauty in a contemporary manner. Its subtle and deep color tones showcase serene aesthetics, and the rhythmical patterns inspired by the folds of Hanbok visually convey the brand philosophy imbued with sincerity and genuine intention.
An SPC Samlip official said, 'We are pleased that Samlip's unique design philosophy has been recognized internationally. We plan to continue showcasing designs that can convey the traditions and emotions of K-desserts to the world.'
