FG Korea, the domestic operator of the American hamburger brand 'Five Guys', announced on the 20th that it has surpassed 4.5 million cumulative visitors to its domestic stores as of last month.
Additionally, the Five Guys location that opened in the I-Park Mall at Yongsan Station on the 25th of last month has ranked among the top five in sales out of over 1,900 stores worldwide since its first week. The so-called 'Global Top 5 Group' consists of top stores that account for about 0.3% of sales, which are evaluated as having the highest competitiveness abroad.
Five Guys is an American handmade hamburger brand brought into the country by Dong-seon Kim, vice president of future vision at Hanwha Galleria and Hotel & Resort. After opening its first store in Gangnam on June 1, 2023, it currently operates a total of eight stores, including in Yeouido, the Express Bus Terminal, Seoul Station, Pangyo, Gwanggyo, Apgujeong, and Yongsan. It is set to open in the Yeoju Premium Outlet in the fourth quarter (October to December) of this year.
A representative from FG Korea noted, '(The Yongsan store) is located in an area with a high floating population, but the rapid entry into the top tier reflects customer preference for the taste and quality of Five Guys,' adding, 'We will continue to improve customer satisfaction with differentiated taste and quality.'
Meanwhile, Hanwha Galleria, the parent company of FG Korea, has decided to sell Five Guys. This comes just two years after its entry into the domestic market.
