Global fashion brand Louis Vuitton has opened its first restaurant in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul, marking its expansion into the food and beverage (F&B) business.
On the 19th, according to the luxury goods industry, Louis Vuitton Korea will open its first restaurant in the country, 'Le Café Louis Vuitton', on the 4th floor of its flagship store 'Louis Vuitton Maison Seoul' in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The official opening date is September 1, and Louis Vuitton has been accepting reservations through Catch Table since the 18th.
Louis Vuitton has previously operated restaurants in Korea in a pop-up store format, but this will be the first permanent restaurant.
Chef Yoon Tae-kyun is in charge of the culinary direction at Le Café Louis Vuitton. The menu will showcase French cuisine enhanced with Korean flavors.
Notable menu items include ▲ Beef dumplings (48,000 won) ▲ Yuzu Caesar salad with eclipse chicken (40,000 won) ▲ Pear charlotte (29,000 won), among others. According to the released materials, the surface of the beef dumplings is adorned with Louis Vuitton's monogram pattern.
Additionally, Louis Vuitton filled the interior of the restaurant with various publications to allow visitors to experience cultural inspiration.
Through the 'Louis Vuitton Culinary Community', which discovers and supports promising chefs around the world, Louis Vuitton has presented menus that blend local flavors with Louis Vuitton's sensibility in cities such as Paris, New York, Tokyo, Milan, and Bangkok.
In addition to Louis Vuitton, recent luxury brands have been expanding their businesses beyond fashion into the F&B sector.
Hermès operates 'Café Mardan' in the basement of Maison Dosan Park, while Christian Dior runs 'Café Dior' in Cheongdam and Seongsu. Gucci has also introduced 'Gucci Osteria Seoul', a contemporary restaurant.
