APR announced on the 19th that it will change the brand name of the fashion brand NERDY to 'NDY.'
The company explained that this is to expand the brand's world view in line with rapidly changing fashion trends and to widen its consumer base.
NDY is an abbreviation for 'Not Defined Yet.' While the existing NERDY has emphasized 'my own freedom,' NDY emphasizes 'me changing freely without being confined' and adds flexibility and expansiveness to the brand's world view.
NDY also unveiled its new fall/winter (F/W) products this year. It applied the new NDY corporate identity (CI) based on NERDY's existing representative product line, the track suits. Four new colors, including navy and pink, were added to the 'Classic NY Track,' and a line made of corduroy material was also newly introduced.
NERDY, which was launched in 2017, promoted a casual yet sporty sensibility. It gained recognition in the global market, especially after being worn by singer IU, growing its sales to 90 billion won. Last year's sales amounted to 70 billion won.
An APR representative noted, 'NDY plans to continue to showcase designs that pursue free change, taking a step further from the free and unique styling that NERDY has presented so far.'
