On the 18th, Glenfiddich, the representative of single malt whiskey, announced the official release of the 'Glenfiddich 16-Year Limited Edition' to commemorate its partnership with the Aston Martin Formula One (F1) team.
Glenfiddich, born in Speyside, Scotland, and Aston Martin, which started in Aston Hill, England, are brands that boast over 100 years of history each. The two brands, which pursue constant innovation based on tradition, have completed an iconic whiskey that embodies craftsmanship, sophistication, and modern aesthetics, Glenfiddich noted.
The Glenfiddich 16-Year Limited Edition has been aged in American oak wine casks, new American oak casks, and second-fill American bourbon casks, enhancing its rich and complex sweetness. The smooth and fresh sweetness wraps the mouth like maple syrup and honey-glazed ginger, harmonizing with a complex flavor reminiscent of fruit salad, featuring a clean finish with a hint of lightly charred oak.
The packaging features the Aston Martin F1 team's signature emblem, capturing the symbolism of this partnership. Furthermore, new colors such as deep green, neon yellow, and metallic silver were applied to simultaneously express the dynamism of motorsports and the delicacy of whiskey.
To celebrate this limited edition launch, various promotions will be organized to allow consumers to experience the product with all five senses. A pop-up store will open at The Hyundai Seoul from the 22nd to September 1, revealing the Glenfiddich 16-Year Limited Edition for the first time in Korea.
A limited quantity of bottles will be sold daily, and customers who purchase will receive gifts such as GlenCairn glasses, Smith & Leather leather initial neck tags, and Baccarat glasses. Additionally, a variety of whiskeys aged 12 years, 12 years sherry cask finish, 15 years, and 18 years will be available for tasting in one place.
Throughout September, a relay promotion will be held at four major whiskey bars in Seoul. ▲ Barbam (1st week of September) ▲ 1808 (2nd week of September) ▲ 78 Degrees Gwanghwamun (3rd week of September) ▲ Rubato (4th week of September) will display the Glenfiddich 16-Year Limited Edition product and feature special menus, and each Friday night, parties tailored to each venue's concept will be hosted.
From September 5, exclusive pairing menus that complement the Glenfiddich 15-Year and 16-Year Limited Edition will be newly released at all branches of Hyundai Department Store Wine Works (Apgujeong Main Store, The Hyundai Seoul, Trade Center Store, Mokdong Store, The Hyundai Daegu), offering a special gourmet experience.
