Emart announced on the 17th that it will hold a Chuseok pre-order promotion for 40 days from the 18th to September 26.
Emart expects strong demand for early gift preparation ahead of this year's Chuseok, which has the longest 'golden holiday' lasting 10 days, and has extended the pre-order period by four days compared to last year.
During this period, customers can receive discounts of up to 50% on gift sets when purchased with a promotional card. There are also events offering up to 1.5 million won in Shinsegae gift certificates based on the purchase amount.
The earlier customers purchase, the greater the gift certificate benefits. For the first pre-order period from the 18th of this month to the 12th of next month, 15% of the amount paid with a promotional card will be given as gift certificates for payments of over 300,000 won. For the second period from September 13 to 19, it will be 10%, and for the third period from September 20 to 26, it will be 5%. The maximum gift certificate amounts will also decrease to 1.5 million won, 1 million won, and 500,000 won, respectively. The gift certificate rates last year were 12% for the first period and 8% for the second period, which have been expanded by 3 percentage points (p) and 2 p, respectively.
To alleviate burdens amid high inflation, fruit sets priced around 30,000 to 40,000 won were prepared, and the reservation quantity was increased by 20% compared to the previous year. The price of pears has slightly decreased. The 'famous region pears (6.5kg, 7 to 9 pieces)' and 'Naju traditional pears (6.5kg, 7 to 9 pieces)' are sold at a discounted price of 40%, in the late 40,000 won range. Apples are priced the same as last year's Chuseok; 'famous region apples (3.6kg, 11 pieces)' are in the late 40,000 won range, while 'apple VIP (3.4kg, 11 to 12 pieces)' is in the early 40,000 won range.
A new budget-friendly set of Hanwoo beef will also be launched. As consumption trends shift from braised ribs to grilled, the 'Peacock Hanwoo Rib Grilling Set' has been newly planned and will be sold at around 190,000 won.
Seafood will also introduce a new set of 'Okdu fish', which is similar in taste and appearance to the premium species 'Okdom', for a price under 100,000 won.
Emart will sell the 'abalone set', which recorded a 140% sales growth during last year's Chuseok pre-order period, either at a 10% discount or price freeze compared to last year.
The Traders Wholesale Club will also hold a pre-order promotion during the same period, offering discounts of up to 50% when accumulating Shinsegae points. Emart Every Day will feature gift sets with discounts of up to 50% from the 18th to the 21st of next month, along with recently popular unique holiday gifts such as 'pure gold bars' and 'silver bars'.
