Emart announced on the 14th that it will hold an event offering popular fresh foods at up to 50% discount in celebration of the Liberation Day holiday. The representative item, flatfish sashimi, will be available at a 50% discount from the 15th to the 17th.
The quantity for sale over three days will be 50 tons, three times more than the usual event volume. Emart has secured a large volume for the event by planning with the contracted fish farm 'Bada Mokjang' in Jeju Island since six months ago.
Currently, the price of flatfish has risen more than 10% compared to the beginning of the year as the supply from farms in Jeju and Wando has decreased. In addition to the discount event, Emart plans to prepare measures to reduce damages to flatfish farms due to high temperatures.
Emart will also offer discounts on items such as pork belly, eggs, fruits, and deli products during the holiday. In the meat section, it will sell 'pork belly and midsection (100g) selected as grade 1 or higher' at a 50% discount for 1,490 won until the 15th.
From the 16th to the 17th, all products of the brand Hanwoo will be offered at half price. Peaches and Shine Muscat will also be available at prices discounted by 10,000 won each. Prices for event items will be lowered when paid with Shinsegae points or event cards.
Jeong Woo-jin, head of marketing at Emart, said, 'In celebration of the Liberation Day holiday, we will once again hold a price stabilization event featuring "half-price fresh foods," providing an opportunity for shopping on everything from seasonal fresh foods to processed items and daily necessities.'
