Nongshim announced on the 14th that its consolidated operating profit for the second quarter was 40.2 billion won, marking an 8.1% decrease compared to the same period last year. During the same period, sales reached 867.7 billion won, an increase of 0.8%.
For the first half of the year, sales amounted to 1.76 trillion won, reflecting a 1.6% increase compared to the same period last year, while operating profit was 96.2 billion won, down 8.4% over the same time.
Nongshim noted, "Sales grew slightly compared to the same period last year due to the growth in exports and overseas subsidiaries, but operating profit declined due to increased promotional expenses and costs of goods sold, as well as the impact of tariffs on transactions in the North American region (U.S. and Canada)."
