HiteJinro announced on the 13th that its consolidated operating profit for the second quarter was 64.4 billion won, down 5.5% from the same period last year. During the same period, sales amounted to 646.5 billion won, a decrease of 2.8%. Net income for the period was 32.9 billion won, a reduction of 25%.
A representative of HiteJinro noted, "Despite the uncertainties both domestically and internationally and the overall contraction of the liquor market, we minimized fluctuations in sales through proactive expense efficiency and market responsiveness," adding that "in the latter half of the year, we plan to continue various sales promotion activities and enhance brand competitiveness not only to maintain scale but also to recover the market."
