On the 11th, YES24, the largest online bookstore in Korea, which experienced a complete service shutdown due to a ransomware hacking incident in June, became inaccessible again.
YES24 stated in a separate announcement, "Around 4:30 a.m. on the 11th, a ransomware attack occurred, causing the service to be unavailable." As of now (10:30 a.m.), the YES24 website is still inaccessible.
YES24 noted, "To prepare for any possible contingencies, we have urgently blocked the system to prevent additional damage and are conducting security checks and defense measures."
It also mentioned, "We are quickly recovering using backup services," adding, "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to users."
Previously, YES24 had suffered a ransomware attack on June 9 of this year, which paralyzed its app and internet networks. The service was resumed five days after the incident.
