The Korea Consumer Agency (KCA) noted on the 7th that there were variations in cleaning power against oils, proteins, blood, and ink among eight types of laundry detergent products tested for quality. All harmful substances were found to be within acceptable levels.
The products evaluated this time include ▲Downy Indoor Dry Deodorizer ▲Rinse Deep Gel Hybrid Indoor Dry ▲Beat Citrus Blossom ▲Snuggle Blue Sparkle Plus+ Indoor Dry ▲Axt Perfect Indoor Dry_ 비 ▲Tech Basic New ▲Persil Pure Fresh Plus ▲Figi Vylux Indoor Dry Original, a total of 8 products.
For common stains like oils and proteins, six products including Downy, Rinse, Snuggle, Axt, Persil, and Figi showed satisfactory performance. For tough stains like blood or ink, Persil performed the best, while five products including Downy, Rinse, Snuggle, Axt, and Tech were rated as satisfactory.
All products complied with the labeling standards for potential allergens. By product, Downy, Persil, and Figi each listed five types, Rinse four types, Snuggle three types, Beat two types, and Axt and Tech each listed one type as allergy caution ingredients.
The expense per laundry load showed up to a 3-fold difference depending on the product. Axt was the cheapest at 56 won per load, while Snuggle was the most expensive at 176 won. Other products were ▲Rinse 77 won ▲Beat 78 won ▲Tech 88 won ▲Figi 118 won ▲Persil 123 won ▲Downy 169 won.
In the investigation of harmful substance detection, harmful components such as benzene and arsenic were not detected in any products, and all were found to meet biodegradability standards. In the packaging recyclability category, all products except Snuggle received an 'excellent' rating.
