NARA CELLAR recommended three types of summer wines, including refreshing sparkling wine and palate-awakening white wine.
On the 6th, NARA CELLAR introduced Roger Guret, a pioneer of premium Cava that adheres to the same traditional method (Méthode Champenoise) as champagne in Spain. Roger Guret is often referred to as 'Spain's Dom Pérignon' due to its reasonable price and high quality. It naturally carries out the entire secondary fermentation and aging process in a natural cave cellar at a depth of 30 meters and a length of 1 kilometer, maintaining an ideal temperature of 14 degrees Celsius year-round. This results in a more delicate bubble, balanced flavor, and excellent texture. It offers vintage Cava aged for at least 24 months.
'Roger Guret Brut Millesime' is famous for being the best-selling Cava in Japan. This wine is a blend of Xarel-lo, Macabeo, and Parellada, featuring a pale golden color with clear and delicate bubbles, along with fresh fruit aromas of apple, pear, citrus, and pineapple, complemented by hints of light yeast and brioche. The vibrant acidity and subtle sweetness create a very smooth harmony. The fruity flavor and light toasty notes provide a lingering finish. It pairs well with appetizers, fried chicken, and sushi.
NARA CELLAR also introduced Montes, a Chilean winery. Montes is Chile's first premium winery and has surpassed cumulative sales of 17 million bottles. It is the most loved wine in Korea, having won the brand customer loyalty award for the wine sector for two consecutive years. Founded in 1987 in the Apalta region of Chile's Colchagua Valley, Montes started as a boutique winery and has grown into a global brand that is exported to over 110 countries. Montes wines are consistently recognized for their quality and reputation, being featured annually in the world's top 100 wines published by renowned wine magazines such as Wine Spectator, James Suckling, and Wine Enthusiast.
In particular, 'Montes Alpha Chardonnay' features fragrant tropical fruits like white flowers, pear, white peach, pineapple, mango, and banana, with refreshing acidity and notable structure when tasted. Additionally, the complexity that is smoothly completed through malolactic fermentation makes it an excellent white wine. It offers subtle aromas of grapefruit and white asparagus that suggest a marine influence, and you can feel a rich, long, and elegant finish that envelops your palate in perfect balance. It pairs well with various seafood, smoked salmon, oil pasta, and cheese.
Donnafugata is a member of the Italian premium wine producers' association 'Grandi Marchi.' It is regarded as Sicily's top winery and has a rich history of over 170 years as a family-owned business. The name Donnafugata means 'woman of refuge,' derived from the event where Maria Carolina, the wife of Ferdinand IV of Naples, fled to this area to escape Napoleon's forces. It is famous as an art wine inspired by literature and legends in Europe that borrow names for wines, embodying art and romanticism.
'Donnafugata Ligea' derives its name from the alluring sea nymph Siren featured in Giuseppe Tomasi's novel. Made from the indigenous Sicilian grape variety Zibibbo, it exudes enchanting aromas of orange blossom, blooming acacia flowers, tropical fruits represented by lychee, and captivating cedar. It exhibits rich minerality and a fresh, clean finish that pairs beautifully with all kinds of seafood dishes.
